Chip Taber

Walter Roseborough Taber III (born December 28, 1960) is an American serial entrepreneur. Taber is currently working on websites that provide assistance to consumers that are buying a new vehicle. He is best known as the founder of Taber Technical Services, a computer consulting firm started in 1981 and sold in 1999. Taber currently lives in Spring, Texas. His history of entrepreneurship began in the early 1970s with a commercial landscaping company that specialized in restaurants in Houston, Texas. Taber has been the owner of, or partner in: 2 landscaping companies, 2 computer companies, an insurance agency, a book store, a jewelry store and several websites. Taber has also worked as a mortgage loan officer, and sold vehicles for several dealerships in the Houston Area.

Personal life[edit]

Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Taber grew up in Houston, Texas. He was raised Episcopalean. Taber attended Briargrove Elementary School, and subsequently graduated from Robert E. Lee High School (Houston, Texas), and in 1983 from MicroComputer Technical Institute (MTI), a Houston-area vocational school. In 1989, Taber moved to Spring, Texas, where he currently resides. Taber lives in Spring, Texas with his wife Joan, who he married in 1980.[1]

Automotive Career[edit]

Taber is currently working on websites dedicated to improving the vehicle purchase process, such as www.We-Help-You-Buy-A-Car.com[2], using the experience gained working for several dealerships in the Houston Area.

Taber first sold Toyotas[3] and Chevrolets[4] in the 1970s and 1980s, while working his way through school. He worked at Gulf Freeway Toyota, near Almeda Mall in Houston, and Jimmie Greene Chevrolet, at the corner of Shepherd and Westheimer in Houston.

Between 2001 and 2011, Taber worked in Internet Sales or as an Internet Sales Manager for:

- Northwood Lincoln[5]-Mercury (now Planet Lincoln[6]) in Spring, Texas,

- BMW[7] of the Woodlands[8] (an AutoNation[9] dealership) in The Woodlands, Texas,

- Fred Haas[10] Toyota in Spring, Texas,

- Robbins AutoMall[11] in Humble, Texas, and

- Anderson[12] Ford[13] in Cleveland, Texas.
