Chris Drake is an American entrepreneur, the founder and CEO of Armor, Inc..[1]

Education[edit]

After serving in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division, Drake attended the University of North Texas and graduated in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a concentration in finance.[2]

In 2013, the university selected Drake to receive its Distinguished Young Alumni Award.[2]

Career[edit]

While serving in the military, Drake built some of the first secure websites for the U.S. Army.[3]

After college, Drake founded TargetScope, an interactive marketing and web development company.[1]

In 2009, he started Armor (then known as FireHost) with his own money.[4] Under Drake’s leadership, the company has grown quickly, attracting $59 million in funding and doubling its revenue for three consecutive years.[5] It now has roughly 200 employees[6] and operates five data centers around the globe.[7]

In 2013, Drake was recognized as one of the Dallas Business Journal’s “40 Under 40.”[8] He was also honored as the Emerging Company CEO of the year by the Metroplex Technology Business Council.[9]
