Chris Kinnear is a former English footballer who was also a PE teacher in East London,[1] and current manager of Dover Athletic football club.[2]
Early career[edit]
Kinnear was a trainee at West Ham United in the early 70s.[3]
Manager[edit]
Kinnear was first appointed manager of Dover Athletic in 1985.[4] In 1995 he moved to Margate and helped them to gain promotion to the National Conference.[4]In 1997 while at Margate they were draw against Fulham of the premier league in the First Round proper where Kinnear faced off against Kevin Keegan and Ray Wilkins in the opposite dugout.[5] He led Dover from the Southern League to the top tier of the non-league pyramid.[4] Then in 2013 he was reappointed manager again of Dover Athletic arriving from Margate.[4] In January 2015 he guided Dover Athletic to the 3rd round of the FA Cup on the way they beat Morecambe 1–0 in the first round and Cheltenham Town 1–0 in the second round earning a draw against Premier League Crystal Palace earning him national attention.[3] However they lost the match 4–0.[6]
