Christian Colombo (born January 7, 1980) is a Danish mixed martial artist, known for competing in the Heavyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.[1]

Mixed martial arts career[edit]

Early career[edit]

Christian has a background in Muay Thai Boxing and started his MMA career in 2005 after being sent out as a soldier to Iraq. Christian lived here with a good friend who trained MMA and it aroused Christian's interest in the sport.[2] Colombo made his professional MMA debut in his native Denmark in February 2010. Over the next five-and-a-half years he amassed a record of 8 wins (6 TKO's, 2 decisions) against 1 loss. In addition to MMA, Colombo is a three-time Danish Muay Thai boxing champion and two-time Nordic Muay Thai champion.[1]

Ultimate Fighting Championship[edit]

Colombo signed with the UFC in 2016.[1] He made his debut on September 3, 2016, against Jarjis Danho at UFC Fight Night 93. The bout ended in a draw after Colombo was deducted one point in the first round due to an illegal knee.

In his second fight for the promotion, Colombo faced Luis Henrique on November 19, 2016, at UFC Fight Night 100. He lost the bout via submission in the third round.

After nearly a year away from the promotion, Colombo returned against Marcelo Golm on October 28, 2017, at UFC Fight Night: Brunson vs. Machida. He lost the fight via submission in the first round.[3]

Danish MMA[edit]

After leaving UFC, Colombo joined Danish MMA and face Nick Barnø on June 9, 2018, at Danish MMA Night 1.[4] He lost the fight via split decision.[5] Colombo announced his retirement after the loss.[6]
