Chuck Currie
Chuck Currie (born 1969) is a clergyperson in United Church of Christ (UCC). Currie is director of the Center for Peace & Spirituality, University Chaplain, and Assistant Professor of Religious Studies at Pacific University.[1] Before joining Pacific University, Currie was appointed as the minister of both Sunnyside Church and University Park Church (2012), two congregations in the United Methodist Church.[2] He has also served as the Acting Minister of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Salem, Oregon (2011)[3] and as a long-term interim minister at Parkrose Community United Church of Christ (2006-2009) in NE Portland.[4] Currie earned a Master of Divinity degree from Eden Theological Seminary in St. Louis, MO. in 2006.[5] In 2015, he received a Doctor of Ministry degree from Chicago Theological Seminary.[6]
He also writes blog posts about social issues on The Huffington Post website.[7]
Currie is married to Liz Smith Currie, a senior policy advisor to the Multnomah County Chair.[8]
