Ciaren Jones (born 16 November 1999) is an English/Welsh footballer. Jones plays as a defender - He is primarily a Centre back (Left) but can also play left back as well as part of a back three. Jones began his career with Brentford before moving to Luton Town. He signed pro contract terms with Norwich City in 2018. Jones has also spent time on loan with Eastbourne Borough.

Career[edit]

Jones began his Academy career with EFL Championship side Brentford, before moving to Luton Town where he was offered a youth scholarship in 2016 [1] Jones featured consistently in the U18 Squad including playing against Preston North End to reach the quarter finals of the FA Youth Cup.[2] He was an integral part of the Luton Town U18 squad that reached the final of the Youth Alliance Cup against Bournemouth in March 2017.[3]

After impressing in EFL Youth Cup Final against Wigan Athletic, where he scored the winning goal (May 2018),[4][5] Jones signed a one-year deal with Norwich City in July 2018 and featured regularly for their Under-23 [6] including playing in the Premier League International Cup against VfL Wolfsburg.[7]

He was extended for the 2019–20 season.[8] and went on loan to Eastbourne Borough FC,[9] leaving due to their financial difficulties and returning to play for Norwich City [10] in their U23 side and in their EFL Trophy, campaign against Oxford United and Portsmouth before having his contract cancelled by mutual consent in February.[11] Jones was training with Sacramento Republic FC immediately prior to the COVID-19 outbreak.
