Cloud4Wi, Inc. is an American technology company, headquartered in San Francisco, California.

Company[edit]

Cloud4Wi was founded by Andrea Calcagno, current CEO and Chairman, and Davide Quadrini, current CTO and Board Member, in February 2014. First headquartered in Pisa, Italy, the company moved its corporate offices to San Francisco in 2014,[1] after the Series A financing round from United Ventures.[2] In September 2016, Cloud4Wi launched the " Flying Partner Program".[3]

In July 2017, Cloud4Wi,won the industry award Fashion / Retail of Digital360 Awards 2017.[4]

In October 2017, the company closed a $11.5 million Series B financing round, bringing the total investment in the company to $15.5 million. The round was co-led by Opus Capital and United Ventures.[5][6]

Cloud4Wi’s portfolio consists of four cloud-based products: Volare Splash, Volare Spaces, Volare Compass and Volare XP. Volare Splash offers guest WiFi that is compliant with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).[7] Volare Spaces supports location analytics, which allows clients to use location data to measure foot traffic, find out where visitors gather and spend most of their time on-site, and how they move within a specific location.[8] Volare Compass is a location-based marketing service that allows clients to collect and manage the identities of their visitors along with real-time customer behavior and location information within their venues to launch targeted marketing programs based on customer location.[9] Volare XP allows service providers to offer managed wifi services. It is used by companies like Armani, Bulgari, Burger King, Olive Garden and Prada.[10]

Cloud4Wi claims a total of 100-million mobile users across 30,000 locations in 100 countries worldwide. The company processes 7.5 billion pieces of location data per month.[citation needed]
