Comet Core Inc is a Technology Company based out of Palo Alto, California. Comet Core is in the process of developing the World's First Buoyant Smartphone, named ‘Comet’.[1]
Phone[edit]
Comet is the World’s First Buoyant Phone.[2] Buoyancy is new to the phone industry and the company has published some teaser videos showing its prototype floating in water.[3] In addition to buoyancy, the new phone has a few features which are brand new to the extremely popular android market. These include a Quantum Lock technology, which is a military-grade 256 bit AES system to encrypt voice communications and dual 16 MP cameras that can be activated simultaneously. Yes, these cameras can record videos from the front and back at the same time OR take two pictures at the same time. Comet will also come equipped with a Biometric Mood Recognition platform that can detect user's body temperature and display specific colors to indicate mood.[4] Every year around 25% of people are estimated to damage their phones due to water contact [5] and 19% drop it in the toilet, [6] but Comet Core aims to change that. Comet Core's buoyancy also has the ability to change losing a phone in some form of deep water such as a lake, river, ocean etc. Outdoor water sports, here comes Comet!
Company[edit]
Comet Core Inc. was founded in September 2014 and is based in Palo Alto, California. It was founded by Prashanth Raj Urs and the team including Matthias Mende (President and Chief Business Development Officer), Ian Brewster (Chief Operating Officer), Gareth Tilley (Chief Marketing Officer), Allen Nejah (Technical Advisor), Loudon McLean Owen (Legal Advisor) and Jared Sanborn (Chief Public Relations Officer). The phone itself is currently under development by SunMan Engineering in San Jose, California and is being designed with the core belief that Smartphones are an extension of who we are. Smartphones are becoming the primary way we reach out to people around the globe. This means your phone is not just a device but a custodian of your life and it's countless experiences. As a result, Comet is not merely a Smartphone, but a true extension of who you are. Comet Core has currently raised over $180,000 USD on IndieGoGo and will remain on IGG until it's launch in 2016. At which time, Comet will be available to the public via distribution online and in some stores.[7][8]
