Community Action for People with Disabilities in Africa

Community Action for People with Disabilities in Africa (CAPDA)[1] is an Australian aid and development organisation working in Moshi, Tanzania.

CAPDA's stated aims are to provide:

  • basic primary assessment and care to people with disabilities
  • training and skill development for families and carers of people with disabilities
  • simple equipment for assisting mobility and ease of care, such as wheelchairs, walkers, positioning supports and splints.[2]

CAPDA works closely with local Tanzanian community-based organizations such as Building a Caring Community (BCC) and Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT).
