CONCORD ORCHESTRA, founded in 2015, is a symphony orchestra from Saint Petersburg, Russia. Since 2016 its artistic director and chief conductor has been Italian musician Fabio Pirola.
The name "CONCORD" is derived from the latin "Concordia", which means "harmony", thus implying that a symphony orchestra can perform different genres of music. The performance of CONCORD ORCHESTRA differs from the classical symphony orchestra performance: at the concert the musicians perform a choreographed dance while playing music by heart without traditional chairs and stands.
As an independent orchestra CONCORD ORCHESTRA has produced three programs: "Symphonic ROCK HITS", "Astor Piazzolla's TANGO of PASSION", and "Snow-white Ball by Johann Strauss".
The most notable show "Symphonic ROCK HITS" includes over 60 covers of such rock bands as Metallica, Nirvana, Queen, Rammstein, Muse and many others.
CONCORD ORCHESTRA has also collaborated with various artists, among which Riccardo Fogli,[1]Francis Goya,[2]Ken Hensley,[3]Michel Legrand.[4]
During its existence CONCORD ORCHESTRA has given over 300 concerts in Russia, 15 concerts in the State Kremlin Palace (Moscow) and 2 concerts in Ice Palace (Saint Petersburg).
