Confidence Staveley is a cybersecurity leader, information technology expert, talent developer, public speaker, founder and Executive Director of Cybersafe Foundation, and first Nigerian female to be inducted into the Forbes Technology Council.[1] Educated in England and Nigeria, Staveley worked as a cybersecurity consultant, enterprise solutions architect, managing partner and country manager.[2][3]

Education and Career[edit]

From Cross River State in the southern part of Nigeria, Confidence Staveley holds a Master's degree from the University of Bradford with a Disntinction in Information Technology Management. She graduated with a first class degree from Middlesex University, London where she studied IT and Business Information Systems.[4] She also has "an Advanced Diploma in Software engineering" and "a number of Cyber security certifications."[5]

Staveley presently works as Executive Director[6] of CyberSafe Foundation, a non-governmental organization dedicated to improving inclusive and safe digital access in Africa,[7] which she founded. In August 2022, she became an official member of Forbes Technology Council.[8] [9] Staveley worked as IT specialist, cybersecurity analyst, was appointed Country Manager (Nigeria) and enterprise solutions architect respectively across diverse sectors including consulting, education, banking, government, and fintech.[10]

Staveley is an advocate of women inclusion and diversity, especially in the cybersecurity profession,[11] and is involved in protecting senior citizens who are particularly vulnerable to financial scams and identity theft. Through her organization, Cybersafe Foundation, she has launched initiatives like NoGoFallMaga, the foundation's flagship campaign to combat digital fraud perpetrated through social engineering; The Sabi Toolkit, which provides users with preventive measures and practical steps to stay safe as they navigate the digital world. She has also launched DigiGirls and CyberGirls, in her quest to close the gender gap in technology.[12][13][14]

Confidence Staveley is an official member of the Forbes Technology Council, an invitation-only community for world-class CIOs, CTOs, and technology executives. She is the first African and Nigerian to win two times in a row (2021 and 2022) the Cybersecurity Woman of the Year Award, an annual event celebrating female cybersecurity leaders changing the world.[19]
