History[edit]
Creandum was founded by Staffan Helgesson in 2003. Soon after, Helgesson recruited Stefan Lindeberg and Martin Hauge as fellow General Partners[4] and Fredrik Cassel was brought in as an investment analyst, later becoming General Partner in 2009.[32] Johan Brenner joined the firm in 2010 after four years at Balderton Capital.[33]
Known as "the leading Nordic venture capital firm", Creandum started by backing startups focusing on consumer internet, software, and hardware sectors[34] and backed its first company, Trustweaver, in 2004.[35] In 2007, they widened their scope to invest in ‘the best tech-enabled entrepreneurs’ [4] and expanded further when Simon Schmincke joined in 2016 from Berlin[30].
