Crowdera is a global crowdfunding site first released in November 2014. It allows users to set up free crowdfunding campaigns to raise money for nonprofits and variety of causes for personal, social and civic needs.
History[edit]
Crowdera was founded by Chet Jain with Chai Atreya and Rich Matsuura in November 2014.[1] The company is based in Palo Alto, California.[2][3] On August 15, 2015, the company launched its India platform.[4][5][6]
Business Model[edit]
Crowdera allows users to set up crowdfunding campaigns to raise money without any kind of service fee. The campaigns range from many areas, from learning services to non-profit organizations. Crowdera uses a traditional crowdfunding model that allows for both perks and donations. After campaign approval, users can then proceed to inputting their stories, perks, and the rest of their campaign content onto their campaign page. Crowdera’s platform uses social media to reaching a wide audience and build a community of participation and support.[4][5][7][8]
