"Cursed" is the second episode of the first season of the American comedy television series Freelancers. The episode premiered on YouTube, on April 4, 2019.[1] The episode was written by Adam Berg and was directed by Jeremy Warner.

In the episode, the group experiences bad luck with everything they do when Miriam the Medium (Tori Pence) places a curse on them.

Plot[edit]

While filming a commercial for Miriam the Medium (Tori Pence), the group is told by Miriam she doesn't have the money necessary to shoot the commercial, considering the long script the group was given. After telling her they won't be making the commercial, Miriam reaches in her bag, pulls out a handful of powder, and throws it at the group while saying "I curse you."

The next day, Micah (Stacey Harkey) remains the only person in the group who believes they are cursed. To encourage Micah they aren't cursed, Devin (Mallory Everton) reveals to the group they have found their first online client, Big Harry's Pancake House. Arizona (Whitney Call) and Owen (Stephen Meek) go to Big Harry's, Devin is tasked with spending $100 on advertising and Micah goes out for a walk.

While on his walk, Micah burns a coupon, steps on his glasses, gets robbed, and has paint thrown on him by an animal activist (Weixin Le).

Meanwhile, Arizona and Owen are informed by Big Harry's son, Little Harry (Jason Gray), that his father was murdered and his secret pancake recipe was stolen. Devin accidentally spends $10,000 instead of the $100 she was given, and Ryan (Matt Meese) finds a creepy doll that gives him candy every time it reappears when he throws it away.

After regrouping, everyone in the group reveals what has happened to them and agrees that they are in fact cursed. That same day, the group visits Miriam and offers to shoot the ad for free if she removes her curse. When she tells them the ad has already been shot by a group of 4th-graders, and that she won't remove her curse, the group decides to place a curse on her by saying "I curse you."

After returning home, Devin reveals to the group she has spent another $10,000 when she found out they had 400 new clients, bringing the total to 801.

The next day, Miriam visits the group, telling them that their curse has worked and she is now single and unemployed. The group agrees to remove their curse if Miriam removes hers, and they agree. Once their curses are lifted, the group's lives go back to normal. Devin reveals that someone has bought their website, and all of their clients, for $20,000.99, making them a profit.

Ryan becomes sad when he realizes the creepy doll is now gone and goes out for a walk. Meanwhile, it is revealed Little Harry killed his father and stole his recipe when he is arrested for yelling "I've killed my father for nothing" when the recipe slips out of his hand, which he blames on a curse.
