Cy Jung (born Cécyle Jung in 1963) is a French writer.
Career[edit]
She is the author of numerous novels and short stories, the essence of which is lesbian desire. She has also written a critical account, Tu vois ce que je veux dire, which aims to raise awareness of albinism and low vision. A novel, Kito Katoka,[1] published in 2021, also deals with these issues.
At the same time, she actively fights against heterosexism, lesbophobia, validism and all forms of exclusion and discrimination. Since 2019, she has been working for access to citizenship for people with disabilities and digital accessibility against the omnipotence of visual communication.
In June 2022, she became the first low-vision assessor to use an adapted sign-in book.[2] As such, and in recognition of her many civic commitments (she has been a volunteer representative of the Médiateur de la Ville since 2019, a Paris Volunteer, a Climate Volunteer, etc.), she was awarded the bronze medal of the City of Paris on April 19, 2023.
In February 2009, she was awarded the Prix d'Honneur for her body of work at the Prix du Roman lesbien 2008.
In June 2009, her short story Le râteau won first prize in the "Previously published authors" category of the "Dire le non visuel" short story competition organized by GIAA and Cinal as part of the commemoration of the bicentenary of Louis Braille's birth.
