Cyclone sandwich

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

A cyclone sandwich refers to the occurrence of two or more cyclones converging over a small region of land, creating an potential for doubly-devastating storm damage to the portion of land between both cyclones.

The term was originally coined by The Argus, of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia on 18 January 1950,[1] when two cyclones threatened the state of Queensland, Australia, sandwiching the area between Bundaberg and Winton. A second citing of "cyclone sandwich" was in The Gold Coast Bulletin on 16 February 2015; two cyclones, one occurring in the far north of the Northern Territory and another in the centre of Queensland, created what looked like a sandwich, with Queensland the filling.[2]
