Cyprian Nyakundi ( born 1991 ) is a Kenyan blogger and cyber activist. He became popular after being expelled by his university, Meru University of Science and Technology, for "Tarnishing the image of the University Via Social Media".[1]

Career[edit]

Nyakundi is a blogger and he uses his blog to condemn poor leadership and mostly for student activism. He also uses his Twitter account to condemn and champion for the student rights. In 2012, he was expelled by his campus for "Tarnishing the Image of the University" via social media and posting on his Twitter account that neither expulsions nor suspensions would silence him. For the next few years, Nyakundi focused on online criticism, organizing and attending protests like Occupy Harambee Avenue to champion for students and Kenyans rights. Nyakundi was named as the second most influential student in Kenya in a study by a Kenyan newspaper.
