DJS (UK) Limited is a British fintech company based in Bournemouth. They specialise in building bespoke software solutions within the financial industry. Their products include Leadtree Global, a financial services affiliate network and real-time lead management system, and PiggyBank, a short term lender. According to a report from Plimsoll Publishing Ltd in 2018, PiggyBank is the third most profitable company within the short term finance industry, and the fastest growing.[1]

The business was founded in April 2012, attributing its name to its three founding directors— Dan Ware, Julian Hek and Simon Woodhams.

In March 2019, the business was published in The Sunday Times Best Companies 100 Best Small Companies to Work For list.[2] DJS (UK) Limited also ranked 51st in the BPO Profit Track 100 league table 2019 after achieving an annual profit growth of 71 per cent over the past three years.[3]

PiggyBank[edit]

PiggyBank offer short term loans, often referred to as payday loans; under the branch of "high-cost short-term credit". Their representative APR is 1270%, though the company advises that the APR is not relevant for loans taken over 5 months or less, as annual interest would not be applied. The company often credits its success to their technological focus, building their lending and customer relationship management platforms in-house to ensure greater efficiency and customer service.

PiggyBank is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, and as such, is committed to following the rules and guidance laid down by them as well as all associated laws and regulations such as the Consumer Credit Act. The company was also recognised for following Money Saving Expert's Good Practice Customer Charter for responsible lending.

Notable Research[edit]

After Christmas 2017, PiggyBank conducted research based on the typical adult's spending over the festive period. The study found that the average Briton borrowed nearly £400 through loans or on credit cards to cover their expenses, and that a typical spender would not clear this credit until April. One quarter of the respondents also disclosed that at the time they were still repaying borrowings from the previous Christmas.[4]

In April 2018, DJS (UK) Limited published research studying how members of the British public manage their money. The research concluded that 1 in 10 adults spend their money without considering the consequences. The issue of saving for unexpected expenses was raised, with approximately a fifth of those polled advising that they are ‘spenders’ rather than ‘savers’.[5]

The company trades under several different brands, including My Financial Broker: a short term credit broker. Leadtree Global work solely in the consumer credit market, within both the UK and USA.
