Baserank (previously known as icoindex.com) is a crypto asset research platform that uses the wisdom of the crowd to evaluate the quality of crypto assets.[1] The company was founded by Jindřich Bartek and Ondřej Pilný in 2017.
History[edit]
In April 2017, the first version of the platform was launched under the brand icoindex.com. Icoindex was initially evaluating only Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs)
In April 2018 icoindex evaluated Venezuelan Petro (cryptocurrency) (₽) as fraudulent and gave it a "scam" rating due to lack of essential information and evidence of corrupted behavior.[2] [3] [4] [5]
In April 2019 the platform was re-branded from icoindex.com to Baserank and the company started aggregating research, reviews, and ratings of the whole crypto asset industry.[6]
On January 31st, 2020 Baserank became the first nationally recognized crypto asset rating organization. Baserank is currently officially recognized in the Free Republic of Liberland.[1]
