djabberd is an XMPP application server, written in the script language Perl. It was created by Artur Bergman and Brad Fitzpatrick at SixApart for LJ Talk, their LiveJournal deployment. It is an open source project released under the GNU General Public License. It is designed to be very modular and comes without much packaging.[3]
