Djay Brawner (also noted as D. Jay Brawner or D.Jay Brawner) (Born June 21, 1981) is an American director of music videos, film, and television.

Biography

Brawner, was born and raised in Menlo Park, California a suburb of San Francisco. He spent most of his free time as a kid filming skate videos and making short films. In 2000, after taking film classes at DeAnza College, he moved Orange, California to begin his education at Chapman University's film school. While studying there, he produced and directed a number of films and soon after went on to become a partner in Generator, a music video production company started by Derek Dale. During that time he filmed a number of upcoming bands, honing his talent for creating clean, image-driven videos, many of which have been featured on MTV, MTV2, and Fuse.

In 2007, DJay founded Anthem Films LLC, a commercial and music video production company. Combining his interest in visual storytelling with his talent behind the camera.

He now resides in Los Angeles, California.

Career

DJay Brawner has directed videos for Stick To Your Guns, Big City Kids, Sam Adams, Arielle Paige, Everyday Tragedy, Jackson United (Chris Shifflet from the Foo Fighters side project), Emery, Ginger Sling of Smashing Pumpkins, Mayday Parade, Mike Herrera's Tumbledown, My New Life, Hope Departed, The Action Design, Eudora (band).

From 2005 to 2006, Brawner created, directed, and produced 26 episodes of a magazine style television show called Noise Link. It currently is airing in Syndication across the USA.

Brawner also works as a feature film set photographer.

Brawner recently completed production on his first feature film entitled Measure.

The influential post-hardcore band The Used announced that they were creating a 12 year retrospective documentary about their career. It was confirmed through posts on both Brawner's and the bands social media pages that he was directing the untitled Documentary.

Personal

Before being a video director Brawner played bass in Orange County punk band Wiggum. The band toured the west coast several times as well as toured the country playing with many notable acts including Hellogoodbye, Nofx, The Matches, Atreyu, and many more.

DJay's cousin Theresa Schwegel is an award winning author.

DJay has been playing bass in the punk rock band Good Knives (which features members of Love Equals Death since December 2013.
