Scientific achievements[edit]
Clarifying and thoroughgoing study on the classic concepts of Neurotrophicity, Neuroprotection, Neuroplasticity and Neurogenesis. Bringing up the Endogenous Defense Activity (EDA)[9] concept, as a continuous nonlinear process, that integrates the four aforementioned concepts, in a biological inseparable manner. Underlying and detailing the role of neurotrophic factors in these neurobiological processes (first monograph related to neurotrophic factors). Defining the concept of "multimodal activity"[10] related to these molecules.
The approach on sub-molecular level of the mechanisms through which known fundamental processes could not only represent the cause but also the effect of elaborated processes (gnosis, praxis, language), as well as subtle superior categories (emotional activity, conscience).
Original contributions in reconsidering the design of Neuroprotection and Neuroplasticity clinic studies in cerebral-vascular diseases and cranial-cerebral traumas.[11] Organizing every year an international congress in the field of Neuroprotection and Neuroplasticity of the nervous system (International Congress of the Society for the Study of Neuroprotection and Neuroplasticity -10th edition in 2014).[12]
