Dananjaya J. Hettiarachchi is a keynote speaker, trainer and HRD specialist.[1] He is the 2014 Toastmasters International World Champion of Public Speaking.[2][3] He was the first Asian to win the championship.[4]


Background[edit]

Hettiarachchi was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka. He was educated at S. Thomas' College, Mt Lavinia and later gained a bachelor's degree with a Double Major in Marketing and Management, an MBA and an MSc in HRD and Performance Management. He is a Chartered Marketer.[1]

Over the years Hettiarachchi developed a career as a HR trainer and gained a reputation as a speaker. In 2014 he won the World Champion of Public Speaking conducted by Toastmasters International.[5]

Dananjaya has been a competitive public speaker for the past ten years. This year, he was ranked as the number one competitive public speaker in the world by Toastmasters International, the world’s leading authority in public speaking and communication. Dananjaya emerged as the first Asian to win the championship beating over 33,000 contestants across 120 countries. As a motivational and keynote speaker he has spoken in over 20 International and Local conferences during the past two years.
