Dr Awdhesh Kumar Singh or Dr A. K. Singh (born 1968)[1][2] is an author, speaker, motivator and Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer of 1990 batch. Presently he is posted in Chennai as Additional Director General, Directorate General of Central Excise Intelligence.
Early life and education[edit]
Awdhesh Singh was born in the Raebareli District of Uttar Pradesh. His early education was in Lucknow. He did his B.Tech in mechanical engineering from IIT Varanasi in 1987 and M.Tech from IIT Delhi in 1990. After joining IRS, he took study leave and completed his Ph.D from Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior.
Career[edit]
After joining service in 1990, was first posted as Assistant Commissioner in Central Excise Division Muzzaffarpur in Bihar in 1993. Thereafter, he held various positions in Customs, Central Excise and Service Tax formations. He was the Course Director for the 2008 and 2009 Batch of IRS officers during his tenure in National Academy of Customs, Central Excise and Narcotics (NACEN), Faridabad.
