Daniel Marco Siegfried
Daniel Marco Siegfried is a co-founder and managing director of Child's Dream Foundation.[1] He serves on various boards of the Child's Dream charity family and chairs the board of the Swiss association. He is responsible for the overall strategy of the organisation as well as the development and implementation of local humanitarian projects aimed at improving health and education for sustainable development.
With a budget of close to US$10 million, Child's Dream, with its 50 colleagues, has implemented or runs over 700 charitable projects and programmes in Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand (the Mekong Sub-Region). He further sits on various philanthropic advisory boards.[2]
A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a graduate of the Zurich Business School, Siegfried worked for close to ten years at UBS in Zurich, Hong Kong, Seoul and Singapore. During his years with UBS he travelled extensively in Asia and visited numerous charitable organizations, which revealed his altruistic side. Ultimately, he decided to leave the financial services sector in 2003 and dedicate his life to bringing positive change to marginalized people. When asked about his motivation, he simply replies, "Because it feels right!"[3]
Career
Siegfried co-founded Child's Dream Foundation and leads programme strategy and implementation across the organisation's operational countries. His responsibilities include strategic planning, oversight of programme design and monitoring, partnership development, and high-level donor relations. He also chairs the Swiss association board and participates on other boards within the Child’s Dream charity family.
Education and early career
Siegfried is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and graduated from Zurich Business School. He worked for nearly a decade at UBS, holding roles in Zurich, Hong Kong, Seoul and Singapore before transitioning full-time to the non-profit sector in 2003.
Philanthropy and board roles
In addition to his role at Child's Dream, Siegfried sits on multiple philanthropic advisory boards. His work focuses on sustainable development initiatives in health and education across the Mekong Sub-Region.
