Dante Marchitelli
Dante Marchitelli (born May 14, 1979) is an American sports broadcaster, currently serving as a studio host, sideline reporter, and play-by-play announcer for the Orlando Magic of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He appears regularly on game broadcasts for FanDuel Sports Network Florida and co-hosts the daily radio program Magic Drive Time on WYGM 96.9 The Game. Mentored by longtime Orlando Magic announcer David Steele (sportscaster), Marchitelli handled play-by-play commentary for approximately 40 Orlando Magic road games in the 2024-25 season.[1]
Early life and education
Marchitelli graduated from Liberty University, where he began his broadcasting career hosting a radio program on campus.[2]
Career
Marchitelli joined the Orlando Magic organization in the late 1990s, initially working in the communications department.[1] He transitioned to broadcasting in the early 2000s, becoming a sideline reporter and studio host for television broadcasts on what is now FanDuel Sports Network Florida (formerly Bally Sports Florida).[3]
In addition to television duties, he co-hosts Magic Drive Time, a weekday radio show that provides updates, interviews, and commentary on the team.[4]
During the 2024–25 NBA season, Marchitelli served as the television play-by-play announcer for select Orlando Magic road games, expanding his on-air role.[1]
Marchitelli is known for his engaging sideline presence and has conducted a number of viral postgame interviews. One such moment occurred on Thanksgiving 2024, when he shared a turkey leg on-air with Orlando guard Jalen Suggs.[3]
Personal life
Marchitelli lives in Windermere, Florida, with his wife and their two daughters.
