Darker Days Radio is a podcast devoted to Horror Table Top Games, in particular the games that make up the World of Darkness and Chronicles of Darkness, which are owned and created by White Wolf.
History[edit]
Darker Days Radio was founded May 15th, 2009, by Mark Hope and Vincent Florio. As of 2010 Vincent Florio left the show, with Michael Andryuk joining as a regular host[1], and was soon joined by Christopher Handley.[2] In early 2012 Mark Hope left the show.
Since then Darker Days Radio has added more hosts to the roster.
Darker Days Radio was the official podcast of World of Darkness: Berlin in 2017[3], and provided coverage for Horrorcon UK 2018[4] and Dragonmeet[5].
Darker Days Radio has collaborated with Beasts of War/OnTableTop[6] to produce "Let's Play" videos for Kingdom Death: Monster.
Darker Days Radio was a guest show at UKGE 2019 to celebrate their 10th anniversary[7][8]
Darker Days Radio hosted a panel on horror rpgs at Dragonmeet 2019, along with an article in the Dragonmeet programme on modern trends in horror rpgs.[9]
Show Format[edit]
The podcast for almost 10 years focused on reviews and interviews with the creators and writers of many horror table top games, including interviews with Monte Cook, Andy Chambers, Tuomas Pirinen,[10] Richard Thomas, Justin Achilli, and many more.
The show is free to air, and makes no money from sponsorship or adverts, allowing for independent reviews of products.
The show typically reviews books for World of Darkness and Chronicles of Darkness games, and examines how content for one game can be used in another.
The show is popular for their "Secret Frequency" segment, where they discuss real world folklore, myths, and urban legends, and come up with ways such things can be used within games.
As of October 2019 Darker Days Radio produces the show "Darkhammer" which provides gaming advice for the Warhammer rpgs (Wrath and Glory, Warhammer Fantasy RPG, Soulbound) which are produced by Cubicle 7.
Publishing[edit]
Since 2018 Darker Days Radio has begun to publish content for role play games through the DriveThruRPG community content portals, the DMsGuild and Storyteller Vault.
