Darkestville Castle is a comedy point-and-click adventure video game developed by Epic LLama and published by Buka Entertainment for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS.[1][2][3][4][5]
Gameplay
Core gameplay is focused around 2.5D levels of varying sizes, in which the player must interact with objects in a variety of different ways, including picking up smaller items, activating machines and combining objects together, all in the pursuit of solving puzzles to further advance the plot line.[6][7][8][9][10]

Cid
Natural born bad person – a demon orphan living in a hostile world of humans. Not only is he a lone wolf here but also he’s a person with no roots left. Of course he is pretty far from being a sweet and nice guy. His temper is truly mischievous, he simply can’t resist it and always tries to do some nasty things to the villagers unlucky enough to be his neighbors. However, deep down he is not such a bad person – he is really fond of his pet fish and he really likes the way he lives in his fancy castle.
Plot

Development and release
Development on Darkestville Castle started in 2015. According to developer Hernan Lopez, he and his friend Fabian Peruggia Ribeiro always wanted to make a game as their favorite Monkey Island 3. The designs of the game inspired by LucasArts adventure games, but with their own touch and perspective of the scenes; something in between Monkey Island and The Nightmare Before Christmas.[16][17][18][19]
As soon as the first playable prototype was created, the team started showcasing the game at various conferences, e.g. Casual Connect 2016 in Amsterdam[20], DevGAMM 2017 in Moscow[21], VK Fest 2017 in St. Peterburg[22]. Darkestville Castle already won the “Best Narrative 2016” award at Casual Connect Conference and it was nominated for “Best PC Game” award at Awesome Games Awards and for “Excellence in Narrative” at DevGAMM 2017.[23][24][25]
Darkestville Castle was released for PC, macOS on 29 August 2017.[26]
