Darrell Knoch (born 20 September 1954) is an investor, author, coach, entrepreneur, financier and "real estate authority"[2] In the last 20+ years, Knoch has purchased over 600 properties.[citation needed] Knoch has also negotiated over $100 Million[citation needed] worth of loans with several banks, and in the 40 years he has been in business, he has grossed over $4,000,000,000.
Early life
Knoch was born into extreme poverty,[3] the youngest of seven children. He grew up in the projects of Michigan and Chicago. His father left for years at a time, which was a relief in some ways, since he was verbally and physically abusive to his wife and the children whenever he was home. Knoch also had an accident when he was one year old that left him with a disfigured face and made him the object of ridicule among his classmates. It wasn’t until he was almost 40 years of age that he was able to have reconstructive surgery.
Personal life
While business was booming, personal tragedy struck, and Knoch lost four loved ones in a very short span of time.[4] Realizing that he spent too much time working and too little with people he loved, he moved to Scottsdale, Arizona and semi-retired. After a prolonged period of bike riding, hiking, and travel in an RV, he began to feel the urge to accomplish something new. He thought about the times in his business and personal lives when he was touched by someone’s story and was moved to become a friend and mentor, helping to instill the healthy self-esteem and unshakeable confidence needed for success. While personally rewarding, his reach had been too limited, and Knoch realized it was time to do something he often thought about—write a book.
The result was a book called *Mastering a Healthy Self Image: the Guidebook to Real Happiness and Enormous Success*.[5]
