David A. Ciccarelli (born January 12, 1979) is a Canadian entrepreneur, inventor, innovator and author known as the founder and CEO of Voices.com, a London-based job search platform.[1][2]

Early life and education[edit]

Ciccarelli was born in Thunder Bay, Canada on the shores of Lake Superior. He graduated from Ontario Institute of Audio Recording Technology in 2000.[3] In 2017, he did a program at Ivey Business School at Western University.[4][5] He also graduated from Harvard Business School in 2022.[6]

Career[edit]

Ciccarelli spent his earliest years in the forest and on the lake. Having attended summer camps across Ontario, he developed a passion for outdoorsmanship.[7]

For over twenty years, Ciccarelli served as Chief Executive Officer of Voices.com, a London-based job search platform he co-founded with his wife, Stephanie Ciccarelli in 2003.[8][9] In 2023, he co-founded, Lake.com, an online vacation rental platform where currently serves as the CEO.[10]

As an inventor, Ciccarelli holds 4 patents listed in Google Scholar.[11] He invented a system for managing online transactions involving voice talent—systems and methods for facilitating online interactions between voice talent users and employer users.[12] As an innovator, Ciccarelli was the first Canadian to be a Google Glass Ambassador with appearances on CTV.[13]

Writing and public speaking[edit]

Ciccarelli is a co-author of Voice Acting For Dummies published by Wiley Publishing.[14] He writes for Forbes,[15] Wall Street Journal,[16] The Globe and Mail,[17] and other media platforms.[18][19]

Ciccarelli is often heard as a guest speaker on podcasts.[20][21][22] He also speaks at industry events and conferences.[23]
