From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

David Dale is a former Democratic US politician from Lancaster, New York. Dale represented the 5th District in the Erie County Legislature. He also served as a Sloan village attorney.[1]

Erie County Legislator[edit]

Dale was involved in a bitter campaign for the Erie County Legislator's seat (5th district) in 2001. Dale's opponent Gregory B. Olma attempted to have Dale removed from the ballot by challenging Dale's residency. The case was decided in Dale's favor by the New York State Supreme Court.[2] In the campaign there were racist and homophobic fliers circulated against Dale. According to the Buffalo News there were also nasty fliers circulated about Dale's opponent Gregory B. Olma. Dale admitted that he was ok with several of the fliers his campaign circulated against Olma.[3] Dale won the election and he served as a legislator from 2002-2003.[4]

Felony conviction[edit]

Dale was disbarred in 2005 for his work with real estate clients. Dale continued to work as a lawyer and collected $10,000 in legal fees while working as a disbarred lawyer 2008-2011.[5][6]

In 2012, Dale pled guilty to first-degree felony scheme to defraud and one count of practice of law by an attorney who has been disbarred.[7] His appeal was denied in February 2013.[8] Dale appealed to the New York Court of Appeals and the appeal was denied September 30, 2016.[9]

Dale was sentenced to one year in County jail.[5] Dale served his sentence.[9]
