David Ormiston (born 28 March 1983) is a Scottish former footballer who played as a forward for East Stirling and Livingston.[1]
Career
Playing career
Livingston and East Stirling loan
Ormiston started his career at Livingston but, due to investment at the club, he could not break into the first team ahead of players like David Bingham and Brian McPhee.
The forward signed for East Stirling on loan in 2003. In 4 appearances for the club, he scored twice.
He left Livingston in 2003 after 1 appearance for the club.
Gretna
He signed for then Scottish Football League Third Division side Gretna in 2003, who had also had investment in their squad. Brooks Mileson took control of the club and invested heavily in the team, and they were promoted from the Scottish Third Division to the Scottish Premier League in three consecutive seasons.[2] Ormiston's chances were limited, meaning he made just 5 appearances for the club, scoring 1 goal which came in a 2-1 win over former club East Stirling.[3]
Return to East Stirling
Ormiston signed for East Stirling on a permanent basis in August 2003. His return lasted just one season, where he made 7 appearances and scored once for the Shire.
His last goal for the club came in a 1-1 draw against Cowdenbeath on 30 August 2003.[4]
The spell at Firs Park would also be his last in professional football.[5]
