David Wosnick (born May 19, 1993) is a Canadian researcher, graduate student, and public figure at the University of Toronto.[1][2]

Wosnick gained significant celebrity status after his GoFundMe fundraiser went viral in February of 2018.[3][4][5][6][7]

Life and Career

Wosnick attended the University of Guelph where he double-minored in neuroscience and ethics. He graduated with honours from the university in 2016.[8]

During the first year of his graduate program at the University of Toronto, Wosnick started a GoFundMe campaign to provide aid to a university local hotdog vendor whose cart was destroyed due to an accidental fire. Within a few days, the campaign went viral within the city of Toronto and the surrounding Greater Toronto Area. Wosnick continued to publicly petition for the campaign, which eventually made international headlines.[9]
