DeSmuME is a Nintendo DS emulator for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS, Linux, and Amiga OS. It supports most Nintendo DS ROMs, both homebrew and commercial. It is, together with No$GBA, one of the most used and valued NDS emulators. Its name is derived from "emu" (short for emulator), DS, and ME.
History
The first version of DeSmuME was in French; later users translated DeSmuME into English. The original developer stopped at version 0.3.3 due to a perceived change in French legislation for emulators. The amendment to the law turned out to be an April Fool's joke, but the developer stopped anyway. Afterward, he made the DeSmuME code public.
Features
DeSmuME supports save states [1] (the ability to save the game at any time), the possibility to change the screen size, and filters to improve image quality. DeSmuME also supports microphone use on Windows and Linux ports, as well as direct video and audio recording. The emulator also offers a built-in movie recorder. You can take a screenshot, add a game to the GBA slot, and pause or resume the game at any point. It is also possible to play the game at an increased speed.
DeSmuME X432R
DeSmuME X432R is a fork of DeSmuME, which supports higher render resolutions than the original console. [2]
System Requirements
There are no minimum requirements, but to run the games correctly you need:
