Goo Create is a cloud-based 3D WebGL content creation editor. It can be used to create games, ads, campaign websites,[1] product showcases and scientific visualizations that run in a web browser.[2] The engine supports rigid body physics,[3] 3D audio[4] and animations. Goo Create runs best in Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.
Typical Goo Create workflow
A typical Goo Create project begins by adding 3D models, configuring materials, adding lights and cameras. The models are then animated using skeletal animation,[5] scripting,[6] state machines[7] and/or using the timeline.[8] Post effects can be added to create a cinematic look.
When the scene is ready, it can be published to the Goo Create cloud hosting or downloaded as a standalone website.
Features
- Entity-Component architecture.
- Model importer supporting embedded textures and skin based animation. Supports FBX, OBJ, 3DS, JPG, PNG, GIF, MP3, MP4, OGV and OGG.
- Animation using skeletal animation.
- Material editor supporting diffuse color, normal maps, specularity, emissiveness, opacity, reflectivity and refractivity.
- JavaScript script editor.
- Physics via Cannon.js rigid body physics engine[9]
- Timeline animations.
- State Machine logic with a visual graph editor.
- Post effects including bloom, motion blur, anti aliasing, levels, contrast, vignette and edge detection.
- Distribution via web link or stand-alone webpage export.
Technology
Goo Create is developed using HTML5, CoffeeScript, WebGL, AngularJS and ACE for the front end.[10]
The back end runs on Amazon Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud instances using the Flask web framework.
Asynchronous tasks like converting models are handled by a service on top of Celery and RabbitMQ.
Goo Create does not rely on any browser plugins and thus runs on any platform that has a modern standards compliant browser.
