On 13 June, 2026, 21-year-old Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas was killed after a failed bungee jump at the Ponte do Esqueleto (Skeleton Bridge) in Limeira, São Paulo, Brazil.[1]
The instructors didn't connect Rodrigues to the rope, resulting in her plummeting 130 feet to her death. All three instructors were arrested, and the investigation is ongoing.[2][3]
