Debjeet Mukherjee (born 10 May 1997) is an Indian author. He is currently a postgraduate student at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Calcutta. He is a poetry and short story writer from Kolkata, India.
Mukherjee’s first short story - A Rural Coincidence won a Commendable Mention at the Wingword Short Story Prize 2017 organized by Delhi Poetry Slam. He was shortlisted the following year for his short story The Farewell at the Wordweavers India Short Story 2018 Contest. Mukherjee also received an Honorable Mention for his winning entry Two Birds, at the International Photography Awards[1] 2017 under Non-Pro Nature – Wildlife category.
Early life and education[edit]
Debjeet Mukherjee was born on 10 May 1997 in Kolkata, India. His father is a government serviceman at Ordnance Factory, Cossipore, Kolkata (GSF) and his mother is a housewife.
He completed his school years at WWA Cossipore English School and St. Xavier’s Institution, Panihati. He received his Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Economics from St. Paul’s Cathedral Mission College, Kolkata in 2018 and is currently pursuing his Master of Science in Economics from University of Calcutta.
Work[edit]
Debjeet Mukherjee’s debut international poetry book VOYAGES Volume I – A Collection of Poetry self-published in 2018/deluxe edition in 2019 by Notion Press, was reviewed and rated Five Stars by Readers' Favorite[2] USA and Realistic Poetry International[3]. The poetry collection was bestowed a (Four Stars) Silver Book Award by Literary Titan[4], USA in February 2019 and garnered favorable positive feedback from authors, bloggers and reviewers around the world. The book also received a Gold Star in TheBookDesigner.com's[5] September 2018 e-Book Cover Design Awards. His second and third works A Rural Coincidence and The Farewell was self-published in 2019 as short story booklets by Uditi Prakashan.
