Debra Danielsen
Debra Danielsen (born October 20, 1957) is an American reality TV celebrity,[1] actress, author, singer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist.[2]
Early life[edit]
She has global recognition for her role as the mother of Farrah Laurel Abraham[3] in the critically acclaimed MTV “16 & Pregnant” show.[4] Danielsen was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa and has lived in the Omaha Metropolitan Area most of her life. For two years she lived in Seattle, Washington and the “Teen Mom OG” episodes chronicled her time there.[5][6]
Professional career[edit]
Debra Danielsen debuted on MTV June 11, 2009 in the reality television series which began under “16 & Pregnant” which told the stories of the hardships faced by teenage girls, families, and “baby dadies” while in high school.[7] The show was an unexpected hit and MTV picked up the series as “Teen Mom” and “Teen Mom OG” (Original Girls).[3]
Teen Mom, renamed Teen Mom OG since the fifth season,[8]is an American reality television series that premiered on December 8, 2009 on MTV. Developed as the first spin-off of 16 and Pregnant.[9]The series follows the lives of Farrah Abraham, Maci Bookout, Catelynn Lowell, and Amber Portwood, who were featured on the first season of 16 and Pregnant; it documents their first years of motherhood and places additional emphasis on strained family and romantic relationships.[10]
The first-season finale brought in 3.6 million viewers.[11]The second-season finale pulled in over 5.6 million viewers,[11]
Danielsen also appears in the groundbreaking We Tv, “Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars Family Edition,” Season 8 episodes.[12]
Danielsen featured in the MTV special “Being Debra,” February 15, 2017.[13] MTV featured Debra Danielsen making her first music video “Debz OG” with her Rappers in Jackson, MS, in addition, to revealing heretofore, unknown aspects of her life with friends, personal trainers, and her fiance Dr. David Merz.[14][15][16]
