Denny Barney

Denny Barney is an American businessman and politician, first elected to the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors (D1) on November 6, 2012. He served as the board chairman in 2014 and 2017 during which he was re-elected to a second term. He serves as a principal and managing partner at ARCUS Private Capitol Solutions, CEO and President of East Valley Partnership and sits on the board of directors for several non-profits in Arizona.

Personal[edit]

Chairman Barney is a sixth generation native of Arizona and lives in Gilbert with his wife Nichole, and their four children.

Education[edit]

Barney earned a bachelor’s degree in international relations and a law degree from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University.

Political Career[edit]

Barney was elected to the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors in 2012 and served as board chairman in 2014 and 2017. He ran a campaign promising to find solutions to address the growing economy and population of Maricopa as well as addressing issues such as inmate recidivism, improving regulatory processes and customer service, and collaboratively addressing regional homelessness.

Business Career[edit]

Barney is a principal in ARCUS Private Capital Solutions, a specialized realty investment and finance company with diverse portfolios including residential master plans, regional mixed-use commercial projects, and industrial development.
