Department of Management Studies (DoMS) at Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee)[2] is part of the IIT Schools of Management, was established in 1998 to impart education in management science. DoMS, IIT Roorkee offers 2 year full-time MBA program with dual specialization.
Facilities[edit]
The Department has four lecture rooms, a computer laboratory, a library over 6400 books, syndicate and committee halls, an auditorium with teaching aids and a large central atrium.

Academics[edit]
DoMS, IIT Roorkee follows a course credit system similar to that used in most American universities. Each individual course within the University is assigned a certain credit weight and students are usually required to take a specified number of units to fulfil requirements for graduation. Courses are typically conducted as classroom lectures, guest lectures, case studies, live projects, industrial visits, knowledge sharing sessions & surprise quizzes, apart from examinations.
Admissions[edit]
The admission to MBA program of IIT Roorkee is through a valid CAT Score. CAT (Common Admission Test) is conducted for admissions to IIMs and few other private B-Schools including IITs. Candidates need to apply for the same through application form generally open in the month of January. The GDPI process normally takes place in the last week of February after shortlist is made for eligible candidates and result for final shortlist to admission is made in the first week of May.

Events at DoMS[edit]
Avenir- The annual business fest of DoMS. The theme of this event for the year 2016 was Shifting Sands - Insight Driven India.
Reminiscence- The occasion of Reminiscence where three batches (first year, second year and recently passed out) of the department come together.[3]
Confluencia- It is a National level Symposium hosted by Department of management Studies (DoMS).[4]
Exuberence- DoMS, IIT Roorkee organises intra-departmental sports fest called Exuberance between MBA seniors and juniors.[5]
Bhor- It is a very important part of the Culture of DoMS IIT Roorkee. Every year, during the deaf awareness week, the students of the DoMS, come together to celebrate the extraordinary abilities of the extremely talented children of Anushruti - a social initiative of school for Deaf inside the campus of IIT Roorkee.
Rankings and awards[edit]
In 2016, DoMS, IIT Roorkee was ranked 9th among B-Schools by 'Career 360'.[6] In 2012, DoMS, IIT Roorkee was ranked 12th among B-Schools in India by 'Business Today'. In 2013 it was also conferred with “B-School Leadership Award” by Bloomberg-UTV in B-School Excellence Awards.
