Derby Mountain Rescue Team
Derby Mountain Rescue Team is one of the original mountain rescue teams in the Peak District. It was formed in 1964 after the death of three scouts during during a race/walk across the peak distric moors[1]. Derby Mountain Rescue Team is a member of Mountain rescue in England and Wales and the Peak District Mountain Rescue Organisation (PDMRO)[2][3]. they provide that a completely voluntary emergency service in the Peak District National Park, Derbyshire, to individuals or groups who are lost, injured or unwell. the team also offers mutual aid to other emergency services in the area and to neighbouring mountain rescue teams.
Derby Mountain Rescue Team is based in Derby and provides a search and rescue, mountain rescue and event medicine cover within a large area of the south Peaks down to Milton Keynes. The team is available 365 days a year, 24 hours a day and can be dispatched via the police at the request of any of the emeregncy services or directly from individuals in difficulty.
Derby Mountain Rescue Team has members from all walks of life, including professional outdoor instructors, teachers, and office workers. The team also aims to dispatch a healthcare professional or doctor to calls, where their advanced medical training may prove beneficial.
