Dian Gomes, FCMA is a Sri Lankan entrepreneur and corporate executive. The owner of Hela casual ,The former Managing Director/CEO of MAS Intimates (Pvt) Ltd and Slimline (pvt) Ltd which a subsidiaries of MAS Holdings of which he was a Group Director. He is a past President of the CIMA Sri Lanka Division. A leading business figure in the islands large apparel industry as well as the mercantile sector.[1] Dian recently launched Innovest Investments (Pvt) Ltd: a wealth management company. [2]

Early Life and Education[edit]

He was born on 21 september 1957 in Sri Lanka, educated at the Royal College, Colombo, he completed his specialized studies in finance sector at Wharton, Ashridge and Harvard Business Schools[3].

Career[edit]

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants[4]. In 2001/2002, he served as a President of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK), Sri Lanka Division. He also served as a Chairman of Hela Clothing and former Group Director of the USD 2 billion apparel enterprise, MAS Holdings. A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK) and Certified Practicing Accountants (Australia). Now a days he is serving as the Honorary Consul of Georgia in Sri Lanka, Dian Gomes joined Board of Nestle Lanka PLC on 17 March 2017[5].

Awards[edit]

In 2003 CIMA-Janashakthi Pinnacle Awarded Dian Gomes a Business Leader for the year 2003, he is globally famous and versatile personality. Later in 2007 the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing endorsed him one of Sri Lanka’s ‘Male Icons’ , after two years in 2009, the World Brand Congress awarded Dian Gomes the ‘Brand Leadership Award’[6] for Individual Category, in Mumbai. In 2014, he was awarded another prestigious award for his outstanding contributions in the sports world, by "the African Sports Management and Leadership Award"[7]. In January 2013 he was invited for the panelist at the Symposium of Gender Inequality in Emerging Markets powered by Green Templeton College at the Oxford university. Dian Gomes also holds the National title of “Sri Lanka Sikhamani”[5] on 19th August 2019, which was awarded by the Sri Lankan Hon. President Maithripala Sirisena at the National Honors Awards Ceremony.
