Diary Of Da Wild One is the second official mixtape by American rapper Wild Wes.
The mixtape delves into more serious and sensitive topics than his other projects, with Wes discussing racism, life, and other themes.
Wild Wes said in a tweet about a week before the project released that 'I want to drop a project that people are going to take seriously' and also made songs that don't sound good on purpose to make people think it's a bad mixtape.
The mixtape has a large collection of tracks because Wild Wes says that if you're going to make a comeback, you have to do it right.
The notes skit on the mixtape is a diss to everyone who made fun of him at the time.
This mixtape would also be the last project that Wild Wes would release in 2023.
The mixtape originally wasn't going to have features, but Wild Wes thought the mixtape would be too empty without them, so he allowed a couple of features to appear on the project.
Wild Wes also said that if this project does well, he'll continue making boom bap; if not, then he'll go back to trap.
This mixtape is also a throwback to the old 2019 Wild Wes sound, except Wild Wes attempted it better and actually tried to make a somewhat decent and listenable project for once in his whole boom bap career.
Since Boom Bap No Cap received somewhat good reception, it will appear on the mixtape, and so will Surplus.
Background
When Boom Bap No Cap was released, people thought the old Wild Wes was back, until he then released his two trap projects, Moonquake and Intergalactic.
People were asking for a boom bap project from Wild Wes.
Wild Wes teased the mixtape with the cover. Wild Wes also stated in a tweet that the title track of the mixtape was one of the top 3 best tracks on the mixtape.
