Diego Stifter (born 25 April 2004) is an Italian-Spanish racing driver, currently competing in the 2022 BMW M2 Cup|BMW M2 Cup.[1][2][3] He is Vice Italian Karting Champion (Rok Italy Championship 2019, category: Junior Rok).[4]

Karting[edit]
At the age of 4, Diego started climbing the karting ladder in Italy but soon he was racing all over Europe.[5]
Diego was with one win and three podiums Vice Italian Karting Champion (Rok Cup Italy Championship 2019, category: Junior Rok) and he finished 6th in the International World Karting Final (Rok Superfinal 2019, category: Junior Rok).[6][7]
In 2020, Diego participated in the German Electric Karting Championship (DEKM) where he finished the season in fourth position. In this championship, he achieved four podiums and two victories.[5][8]
In 2021, he drove the WSK Euro Series, Italian Iame X30 Karting Championship, and the International World Karting Final (Rok Superfinal 2021).[9][10][11]
Racing Cars[edit]
In 2022, Diego Stifter moved up to Racing Cars in the BMW M2 Cup in Germany.[1] Before his first race, the race series provided two test days at Hockenheimring and Red Bull Ring at the beginning of 2022.[12][13]
In his first race weekend of driving Racing Cars, BMW M2 Cup, he made it to the third position while starting from position 12 and therefore was awarded as best rookie of his category. Furthermore, during this race he was the youngest driver, aged 17 years, on the grid in Lausitzring.[1][14]
Personal life[edit]
Diego is living in the north of Italy, South Tyrol.[5] He attends the technical high school (TFO Max Valier) in Bolzano, Italy.[15] Moreover, he used to be an Ice Hockey Player in HC Eppan Pirates.[3][16]
