History
dimsum was founded by SMG Entertainment Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of Star Media Group in Malaysia, and launched officially on November 8, 2016. Its office is currently located in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.
As of June 2018, dimsum was accessible in Malaysia, Brunei, and Singapore (via StarHub).
Name
The name dimsum is derived from the famous Chinese cuisine *dian xin* 点心, and is loosely translated to English as "a selection of the heart".
