Discord HypeSquad 1
Discord HypeSquad Program, was a community initiative created by Discord. The program was publicly released on April 12, 2017.[1] The program was aimed at promoting Discord beyond its existing user base, including conventions and other public events.
Participation in the Program
To join the program, participants completed the HypeSquad Test, which has since been deactivated and removed following the program’s last active period in 2020.[citation needed]
Members of HypeSquad received an online badge, hoodie, stickers, and other gifts from Discord. They also gained access to exclusive HypeSquad servers and were among the first eligible to apply for the Discord Moderator Program in mid-2017.[2] The program later evolved through several versions, known as HypeSquad 3.0–4.0, during the “House era.” [3]
HypeSquad Houses
Balance, Bravery, and Brilliance were the three promotional Houses used within the program, first introduced to the public on August 16, 2018.[4] [5]
Events
HypeSquad house Members participated in a number of events, including Discord Pride 2019[6],King of the hat[7], Discord Snowsgiving[8] which has their own seperate gifts and collaborative merchandise.
