ISSAA
Overview[edit]
Issa "ISSAA" Murad (born January 1, 1970) is a Jordanian professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player who has been playing CS:GO professionally since 2016, and currently plays for the Esports Organisation OG.
Biography[edit]
Early Career[edit]
ISSAA's professional CS:GO career began in early-2016 when Chosen5, a lineup consisting of Jordanian and Iraqi players, was created. The lineup failed to expand and compete internationally, but ISSAA began to be recognized as an upcoming talent after qualifying to FPL, while also leading the team to numerous closed qualifiers including the first DreamHack Masters Malmö 2016 Closed Qualifier and the WESG 2016 Middle East and Africa Finals.
Team History[edit]
Team Spotnet[edit]
In early 2017, roughly one year after being recognised during his FPL, DreamHack and WESG performances, ISSAA joined his first Esports organisation. This was a Lebanese Organisation by the name of Team Spotnet. With this team, ISSAA lifted his first minor trophy, winning Arab Gaming Championship 2017 - Winter Open. During his time with them, he helped his team qualify for the Asia Minor Championship - Kraków 2017 being eliminated with a 0-2 record after losses against Renegades and Signature Gaming. ISSAA's time at Team Spotnet came to an end later that year in August 2017.
Gux & Friends[edit]
Following his journey with Team Spotnet, ISSAA joined 'Gux & Friends' for a short period of time, a lineup led by famous former Fnatic player Gux. During his very brief one-month journey with the squad, the team failed to achieve any notable results. However, this was the start of ISSAA's relationship with woxic his future teammate on HellRaisers.
HellRaisers[edit]
After a shortlived one month with Gux & Friends, ISSAA joined his first major organization[1], HellRaisers, alongside woxic. ISSAA's first big event with HellRaisers was the ESL Pro League S6 Finals, where the team made it to the playoffs after beating fnatic, Team Liquid, and Astralis until they missed out on another victory when they lost against Misfits.
Their next LAN event was Bets.net Masters in April, where ISSAA lifted his first large trophy with the team following a 2-1 win over North in the finals[2].
At ISSAA's next international LAN, DreamHack Tours 2018, the team claimed a second place finish, after once again facing North, but this time, failing to secure a win in the finals. In 2018, ISSAA and HellRaisers qualified to the FACEIT London Major CIS minor where the team qualified for the FACEIT Major: London 2018 while dropping only a single map[3] to Team Spirit. In the FACEIT Major, HellRaisers reached their peak as a team and an organization after qualifying to the playoffs before being eliminated by Team Liquid.
With this, ISSAA also notably became the first Middle Eastern player to attend a Major[4]. After this incredible achievement, ISSAA would continue with HellRaisers for another year where the teams results began to stagnate as notable players began to leave the team, with their only achievement at this team being a fourth place finish at SuperNova Malta 2018. In December 2019, ISSAA exited HellRaisers after being acquired by OG to join a new international project alongside NBK-, Aleksib, valde, and mantuu.
Current Team[edit]
Following all of his achievements in his CS:GO career, ISSAA has been in his current team, 'OG' since December 2019[5]. He has been playing alongside the same teammates; NBK-, Aleksib, valde, and mantuu, with 'Ruggah' joining the team as their Coach in January 2020[6]. The team have participated in numerous tournaments together and continue to build upon their team experiences and dynamic.
