DiskReport is an online disk space management tool. DiskReport is compatible with all Linux distributions. The Windows version is not available yet.

    Functionality

DiskReport generates an online report of disk space usage (pie chart of size and file count usage). The agent is collecting data on the host and sending it to http://www.diskreport.net to generate an online report. As the report is online, there is no need for a graphical user interface on the host, making DiskReport usable on servers.

There is also no need for space on the host; DiskReport can be launched directly from the web, and no space is used on the host for the report. This is particularly useful when the disk is full, to quickly find files to remove without installing any disk space analyzer tool.

By making periodic reports (daily or weekly for example), the report shows graphs of size variation between reports. This is especially useful to find growing files and helps to clean disk space. With classic tools, you will just have a TreeMap or Pie_chart to help find the biggest folder. With history data analysis, DiskReport also allows you to find which folder has grown between the different runs. That helps diagnose the disk space problem (logfile of a service in malfunction, ...)

The report also contains cleaning advice for some common folders (logfiles, package manager cache, MySQL binlogs...) to help clean disk space (Log_rotation advice, MySQL binlogs and relay logs tuning advice...)
