DiskReport is a online disk space management tool. DiskReport is compatible with all Linux distribution. The Windows version is not available yet.

    Functionality[edit]

DiskReport generate an online report of disk space usage (pie chart of size and file count usage). The agent is collecting data on host, and sending it to http://www.diskreport.net to generate an online report. As the report is online, there's no need for a grahical user interface on the host, making DiskReport usable on servers.

There is also no need of space on the host, DiskReport can be launch directly from web, and no space is used on host for the report. This is particularly useful when disk is full, to quickly find find to removes without installing any disk space analyser tool.

By making periodic reports (daily or weekly for example), the report show graphs of size variation between reports. This is especially usefull to find growing files and helps to clean disk space. With classic tool you will just have a TreeMap or Pie_chart to help finding the biggest folder. With history data analysis DiskReport also allow to find which folder has grown between the different runs. That helps diagnose the disk space problem (logfile of a service in malfunction ...)

The report also contains cleaning advices for some common folders (logfiles, package manager cache, MySQL binlogs...) to help cleaning disk space (Log_rotation advice, MySQL binlogs and relay logs tuning advice...)
