Pakistan and Taiwan have had a weak relationship since 1951. When Pakistan became independent, it maintained a relationship with Taiwan from 1947 to 1951, until China emerged on the global map following the Second Chinese Civil War, Pakistan took the side of the People's Republic of China instead of the Republic Of China (Taiwan). [1][2] as Pakistan is a close ally of China.[3][4] The Pakistani leadership has adhered to the ideology of a "One-China" policy.[5][6]
