Donny Winter
Donny Winter is an LGBTQ+ American poet, YouTube blogger,[1] and podcaster. While he began is writing career writing a column for Diversity Rules Magazine[2] out of New York, he is best known for his poem collections Carbon Footprint and Feats of Alchemy, and his confessional commentary on YouTube.[3] Two of his poems, one from each collection, have been nominated for the Pushcart Prize in 2020 and 2021.[4] In December 2020, due to the success of his first collection, Winter was awarded Featured Artist by publisher Alien Buddha Press.[5] In August 2021, his debut reading, "The Earth is Still Breathing,"[6][7] was a featured event to promote the re-opening of the Roethke Houses in Saginaw, Michigan, celebrating the legacy of classic American poet, Theodore Roethke. His poems can be found in journals and magazines including Lothlorien Poetry Journal[8], Please See Me[9], Still Life[10], and Indolent Books[11].[12] He currently teaches composition, technical writing, and creative writing at Delta College in Michigan[13].[14]
